A copy of this document will be provided upon enrollment. It is required that it be read and signed by the parent or guardian.
Enrollment Procedures
*Parents must provide Love, Laugh and Learn Preschool with the completed Enrollment Form, Medical Consent Form, a complete record of age-required immunizations, and a signed Terms of Service Form before services can begin.
*Your child’s first two weeks are a probationary time for you, your child and the provider. This agreement may be terminated at any time during that period. After this time period, a two week notice is required if the child is to be permanently removed from Love, Laugh and Learn.
Hours of Operation/ Tuition
*The daily hours of operation for Love, Laugh and Learn Preschool are 9:00 am until 12:00 pm. Before and aftercare is available from 8-9 am and 12-4:30 pm.
*We have agreed that for your child the drop off time will be __________am
and the pick-up time will be ___________ pm.
*A phone call is required at least one half-hour before scheduled time of closing if you find that you are going to be late picking up your child. If a child is still in the care of Love, Laugh and Learn after closing time without prior consent the parent will be charged a $10.00 fee per half-hour.
*Love, Laugh and Learn agrees to accept your child(ren) for the rate(s) of ___________________________ per week. These fees are subject to change but only with prior notice of no less than 4 weeks.
*You will be charged for all of the days that you have agreed to have your child in preschool/ aftercare. If for some reason your child does not attend you will still be charged the rate listed above.
*The fee for services is due in advance and payable on Monday. If your bill is not paid by Wednesday, a $20.00 fee per day will be added until the balance is paid in full. If the balance has not been paid prior to the next week of services, your child will not be able to attend Love, Laugh and Learn until it has been paid in full.
*Checks will be accepted, made payable to Melissa Knightes. If, however, your bank returns two checks because of insufficient funds, your weekly fee will only be accepted in cash. A $40.00 service fee will be charged for all returned checks.
*Love, Laugh and Learn Preschool follows the Virginia Beach Public School Calendar
Sick Care
*If your child is ill to the extent that it interrupts his or her care or endangers the health of the other children, it will be necessary for you to make other arrangements for care.
*Should your child become ill during the day at Love, Laugh and Learn, you will be notified and the best course of action will be determined.
*Parents must make arrangements for their child to be picked up immediately for the following reasons: Fever of 101 or higher, vomiting, excessive diarrhea, or any potentially contagious illness.
*Medications will only be administered upon written authorization by the parent. Any prescription medication to be given must come in a labeled prescription bottle.
Miscellaneous Information
*At least one change of clothing is required for your child at all times.
*Should your personal address or phone number change this information should be provided to Love, Laugh and Learn as soon as possible. The names and numbers of emergency contacts should be kept current as well.
*No child will be released to any person other than those listed on the child’s enrollment form. In case of an emergency pick-up, a phone call from you will be sufficient as long as the individual picking up your child can show identification.
*Love, Laugh and Learn is a mandatory reporter of child abuse. Your child’s welfare always comes first.
*Love, Laugh and Learn is a well-organized, well-supervised, and stimulating atmosphere. This minimizes the need for discipline. Should a discipline problem arise involving your child, we will discuss the problem and work out a solution together. A “time-out” chair will be used for 2-3 minutes in the case of any aggressive, or destructive behavior for children over two years old. Corporal punishment of any kind is prohibited at Love, Laugh and Learn.
*Parents are free to call and check on their child any time. If voice mail picks up, your call will be returned as soon as possible.
*Parents have free access to all areas of the home and yard that are used by the children.
*There is an above-ground swimming pool on the premises. We take pool safety very seriously at Love, Laugh and Learn. This pool has been safe-guarded with a latching gate, and a Water Warden Safety Net Cover. This safety net has been built to hold several hundred pounds of weight. For more information on this pool safety cover you can go to www.thewaterwarden.com. The back door of the house which leads to the pool area has a safety alarm in place as well. No children will be taken into the pool unless it is a pre scheduled designated swim-lesson time, during which a person trained in basic water rescue, life guarding, or water safety is with your child one-on-one in the pool and a consent form has been signed by the parent.
*Love, Laugh and Learn is a smoke-free environment. No smoking is allowed in the home or yard at any time.
*Love, Laugh and Learn is a pet-friendly environment. There are 3 dogs on the premises. All have updated shot records and veterinary examinations. Although the pets are kept separate from the school area, this could still affect a child with extreme allergies to pets. If your child does have diagnosed allergies to pets please take this into consideration before completing enrollment.
*Finally, open communication is the key to a happy and long-lasting relationship between Love, Laugh and Learn and your family. Please do not hesitate to contact me regarding anything that affects the well-being of your child.
